Common Questions
Questions we hear most often.
Short, practical answers to the questions Canadian organizations actually ask when they’re thinking about working with us. If yours isn’t here, book a discovery call and we’ll talk it through.
Do we need to be tech-savvy to work with you?
No. Most of our clients aren't. We work with Executive Directors, COOs, Communications Directors, and senior leaders who are smart, busy, and need practical results. Not technical tutorials. We meet you where you are and build AI into the work you're already doing.
What AI tools do you recommend?
We're tool-agnostic. We recommend what fits your organization, your team, your data, and your budget. That usually means a small number of well-chosen tools deployed well, not a sprawling stack nobody fully uses. Most engagements involve Claude, ChatGPT, or a Microsoft-stack equivalent, plus a few function-specific tools we configure together.
How quickly will we see results?
Most clients see measurable time savings inside two to four weeks. Inside the first 60 to 90 days, we typically see 33 to 50 percent workflow reduction across the functions we work on. The case studies on this site show what that looks like in practice.
What's your approach to AI ethics and Canadian privacy law?
Built into every engagement. We work in alignment with PIPEDA, with Canada's responsible AI tradition, and with your existing organizational policies. We don't write standalone AI policies that sit in a binder. We extend the governance you already have so AI use is responsible, defensible, and aligned with what your board and funders expect.
How is this different from free AI training or a workshop?
A workshop teaches general skills. Our engagements build AI workflows around your specific role, your actual decisions, and your organization's priorities. Every session delivers outputs you use that day. Persistent AI workspaces, documented workflows, and a value report your board can see. Workshops are events. We build infrastructure.
Can our whole team attend together?
Yes. The AI Strategy Intensive is built for teams of 50 to 200. Operational AI Integration includes staff training across all priority functions. Executive AI Advisory is one-to-one or small-group, depending on the role.
Do you offer ongoing support?
Yes. Executive AI Advisory is a recurring engagement, typically every two weeks with async support between sessions. The Fractional Chief AI Officer is a monthly retainer for organizations scaling AI across departments. Operational AI Integration includes adoption reinforcement built into the engagement.
How much does it cost?
Pricing is customized based on organizational size, scope, and the problems we're solving together. We never lead with price because we don't know yet whether we're the right fit. Many organizations access our services through professional development budgets, capacity-building grants, or digital adoption funding programs. We help every prospective client map the funding path before we send anything to sign.
What makes AI for Canadians different from other AI consultancies?
Three things. First, the Five-Layer Value Model: we measure value across time reclaimed, quality, expanded output, strategic capacity, and organizational resilience. Most consultants stop at time saved. Second, we build infrastructure that lasts. Persistent AI workspaces, documented workflows, trained staff, and Monthly Value Reports your board can present to funders. Third, we're built specifically for Canadian organizations doing mission-driven work in health, research, genomics, climate, community, and finance. Not a horizontal practice that took on a nonprofit client.
What is succession-ready AI infrastructure?
If your AI Champion leaves tomorrow, does the AI capability leave with them? For most organizations, the answer is yes. Succession-ready AI infrastructure means persistent workspaces, documented workflows, organizational memory, and trained staff. Day-one usability for whoever comes next. It's the difference between a person who's good at AI and an organization that operates with AI.
Do you work outside Canada?
Canadian clients work with us through AI for Canadians. US-based clients work with our sibling brand, ImpactNorth AI, at impactnorth.org. Same methodology, same frameworks, separate practices.
